"I got to open up for Cheat Codes. I knew the crowd was going to be interested in EDM and I got to hit them with some harder music later on in the set."
Crafting a set full of energetic builds and drops, familiar a-capellas, and mashups, JuiceBox was able to create a mix that any fan of electro and house will love.
Electronic & dance music events are known for their high-energy atmosphere, elaborate light shows, and enthusiastic crowds. The music at these events is characterized by fast-paced beats and is often accompanied by dancing and other forms of visual and interactive entertainment.
Body shaking beats and a bass loving crowd. A staple of the local live music scene, the Westcott Theatre has been the home to a diverse range live and electronic music acts. Artemis opens up for acclaimed New York Tech-House DJ, Westend with her signature high energy, crowd-pleasing performance. Starting off the night alongside Justin Tran, the set started with a few remixes of pop classics, as she blended together familiar sounds with deeper and groovy house music beats and melodies. Artemis emotionally engaged with the crowd and got everyone excited to move their feet each and every second.
The HypeBeats project was started with the idea of sharing the stories of local performing artists, DJs, music producers, and the Syracuse and central NY electronic music scene.
Through interactive visuals, video content, photography and bright, vivid branding, HypeBeats was able to showcase the unique stories of performing artists that have impacted the local scene, and offer an engaging multimedia medium to step into the world of dance and electronic music.
While larger cities and metropolitan areas such as New York City, London, Los Angeles and Chicago possess a larger electronic music sphere, there is also a smaller, authentic, and more intimate scene that can be found in the vicinity of Syracuse that is comprised of both students and locals.
The developer of this project, Jason McGill, is passionate about the media & entertainment industry. His area of focus is the intersection of creative design, digital media, and user experience. He has long term professional goals of becoming a leader within the field. HypeBeats was additionally made possible by the Newhouse community at Syracuse University as well as the great talent and supporters of the local entertainment scene!
